WASHINGTON D.C. - President-Elect Donald trump declares war on Isis via Twitter today. This is in response to the latest terrorist attack in Turkey over the New Years Weekend.
Over the New Year's Weekend a lone gunman killed over 30 people and wounded dozens more, including an American citizen in a Turkish nightclub. One of those killed was a Turkish police officer that was standing near the entrance to the nightclub.
ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the attack, saying that it was in response to Turkey supplying Syrian soldiers that are fighting ISIS in Syria.
The Turkish attack comes after multiple attacks in Europe most notably in German where a ISIS refugee highjacked a truck and rammed into a city market killing and wounding dozens of people.
Minority Leader Chuck Schummer (D) stated, "It's unfathomable that President-Elect would put attack a peaceful religion over a simple misunderstanding, and it's even more unbelievable that he'd do it over Twitter."
This is not the first time the President-Elect Trump has used Twitter to attack those he is in opposition. He has tweeted many controversial statements since running and being elected as the 45th President of United States.
